LESSON OBJECTIVE
We
will challenge ourselves:
Why
focusing is the ultimate personal development skill to develop
1.
I
never confuse motion with action
Have
o ever ben bus all day, only to wonder what you accomplishes when it’s over?
Don’t let motion deceive you; it’s not always worthwhile.
2.
“Lack
of direction, not lack of time, is the problem, We all have twenty-for hors
days”
People
who claim they don’t have enough time are mistaken- they’re just doing the
wrong things with their 24 hours. If you prioritize interruptions you will miss
out on your dreams.
3. “Simple can be harder than complex:
You have to work hard to get your thinking clean
to make it simple. But it’s worth it
in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains”
4. “The
key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we
fear”
Ignore fear and focus on what you want in life!
5. “The
successful man is the average man, focused”
Think
of a person who has learnt Italian today and got two words. He goes the second
day and gets 3 words, and keeps learning two or three words for about a month.
Think
of another person who goes the first day and never goes again but does French,
then football, then music.
6. “Focus on the journey, not the destination.
Joy is found not n finishing an activity
but in doing it”
Success
is the destination; progress is the journey, so let’s focus on progress!
7. “Concentrate
all your thoughts upon the work at hand. The sun’s rays do not burn until
brought to a focus”
How
true is this? Have you ever been completely absorbed in your work? Wasn’t fun?
I believe it’s fun because we’re meant to live this way. It’s when we’re
talking on the phone, surfing the web, writing, and eating at the same time
that we’re missing the point.
8. “Most
people have no idea of the giant capacity we can immediately command when we
focus all of our resources on mastering a single area of our lives”
10. “It
is not enough to be busy; so are the ants. The question is: what are we busy
about?
11. “To
be everywhere is to be nowhere” “When pulled in every direction, you stay in
the same spot”
12. “One
reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct or
focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through
life, never deciding to master anything in particular.
